Implant Supported Bridges

WHAT IS IMPLANT SUPPORTED BRIDGES?

Multiple missing teeth should not mean a lifetime of compromise. There is a permanent solution.

An implant supported bridge replaces two or more consecutive missing teeth by anchoring a multi unit prosthesis to dental implants placed in the jawbone, without relying on or altering the adjacent healthy natural teeth. At LUMI Dental in Boca Raton, implant supported bridges are planned with detailed three dimensional imaging to determine optimal implant positions, and fabricated from premium ceramic materials to deliver a result that is fixed, natural looking, and built for long term stability.

Unlike traditional bridges, which require the preparation and crowning of the teeth on either side of the gap, an implant  supported bridge is entirely self supported. This means your healthy adjacent teeth remain completely intact, and the jawbone in the treated area continues to receive stimulation through the implants, preventing the bone resorption that otherwise occurs in edentulous spans. The bridge is permanently fixed in place and maintained with the same care as natural teeth.

BENEFITS OF IMPLANT-SUPPORTED BRIDGES

  • Adjacent healthy teeth remain completely untouched, no preparation or crowning required.
  • Implants preserve jawbone volume in the area of missing teeth, preventing long-term ridge resorption.
  • Fixed and permanent, no removal for cleaning, no movement during eating or speaking.
  • Fabricated from premium ceramic or zirconia for natural aesthetics and exceptional durability.
  • A comprehensive, long term solution for patients missing two or more consecutive teeth.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT DURING A IMPLANT-SUPPORTED BRIDGES TREATMENT?

Implant supported bridge treatment follows the same phased approach as single implant treatment. Implants are placed surgically and allowed to integrate over three to six months. Once integration is confirmed, impressions are taken and the bridge is fabricated. At the delivery appointment, the bridge is fitted, adjusted for bite accuracy, and permanently cemented. The total timeline from first implant appointment to final bridge delivery is typically four to eight months. We provide a detailed timeline estimate at your implant consultation.

OUR APPROACH TO IMPLANT-SUPPORTED BRIDGES

At LUMI Dental, implant-supported bridge planning begins with cone beam CT imaging to map the bone volume at each proposed implant site. We determine the number and positioning of implants needed to support the bridge biomechanically and ensure the design accounts for the full occlusal scheme of the arch, not just the span being replaced. The bridge aesthetics are designed with the same attention to shade, shape, and proportion that we apply to all our restorations, ensuring the final result looks completely natural within the context of your smile.

Your smile deserves attention today, not tomorrow.
