Dental Bridges
WHAT IS DENTAL BRIDGES?
A missing tooth is more than a gap in your smile. It changes how your whole mouth functions.
A dental bridge is a fixed, non removable restoration that spans the gap of one or more missing teeth, anchoring to the natural teeth on either side and restoring both the appearance and function of the smile. At LUMI Dental in Boca Raton, bridges are custom fabricated from high quality ceramic or zirconia to match the color, shape, and contour of your natural teeth, producing a restoration that is aesthetically seamless and functionally complete.
When a tooth is missing, the adjacent teeth begin to drift toward the gap and the opposing tooth can over erupt, disrupting the bite and creating a cascade of secondary problems. A bridge prevents this drift, maintains bite stability, and restores normal chewing function. We discuss both bridge and implant options at your consultation so you can make an informed decision about which approach is most appropriate for your specific clinical situation and long-term goals.
BENEFITS OF DENTAL BRIDGES
- Fixed and permanent, no removal for cleaning, no movement during eating or speaking.
- Prevents adjacent teeth from drifting and opposing teeth from over-erupting into the gap.
- Fabricated from premium ceramic or zirconia for natural aesthetics and durability.
- Restores full chewing function in the area of the missing tooth.
- Can often be completed in a shorter timeline than implant-based options.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT DURING A DENTAL BRIDGES TREATMENT?
Bridge treatment follows a two appointment process similar to crown treatment. At the first appointment, the abutment teeth are prepared, digital impressions are taken, and a temporary bridge is placed. At the second appointment approximately two weeks later, the permanent bridge is seated, fitted, and permanently cemented. Post-delivery sensitivity around the abutment teeth is normal and temporary. We provide complete instructions for cleaning beneath the bridge, an important step for maintaining long-term health at the gum line.
OUR APPROACH TO DENTAL BRIDGES
At LUMI Dental, bridge treatment begins with a thorough assessment of the abutment teeth, the bone levels in the gap, and the overall bite relationship. We confirm the abutment teeth are healthy enough to support the bridge before any preparation begins. We are transparent about the clinical trade-offs of a bridge compared to implant options, and we present both so you can make the most informed decision. Every bridge we place is fabricated from quality materials and fitted with the precision that determines how well it functions over the long term.

Your smile deserves attention today, not tomorrow.

VIEW ALL TESTIMONIALFrequently Asked Questions LUMI Dental
How long does a dental bridge last?
With proper care, dental bridges typically last 10 to 15 years or longer. Longevity depends on materials used, abutment tooth health, and quality of home care and professional maintenance.
Is a bridge better than an implant?
Implants are generally preferred long-term because they preserve bone and do not require alteration of adjacent teeth. Bridges are clinically appropriate in many situations. We discuss both options at your consultation.
How do I clean a dental bridge?
Standard flossing cannot pass under the bridge. We recommend floss threaders, superfloss, or a water flosser to clean beneath the bridge at the gum line. We demonstrate proper technique at your delivery appointment.
Will my bridge look natural?
Yes. Modern ceramic and zirconia bridge materials are highly lifelike and shade-matched carefully to the surrounding teeth. A well made bridge is typically indistinguishable from the natural teeth around it.
Does getting a bridge hurt?
Bridge preparation is performed under local anesthesia. Post-procedure sensitivity around the abutment teeth is normal and temporary. We provide guidance on managing any discomfort during recovery.
